Out of box, Connex can filter orders by status or store. To exclude by other fields, you can add a rule.
I sync from my shipping solution to QuickBooks. I have many selling channels and I want to include more than four in my sync. When I filter by selling channel, I receive a 524 timeout error. What can I do?
Having more than 5 many selling channels in Shipstation causes errors in your Web Connector. (see screenshot below where user has 7)
With connections that have lots of Selling Channels (like ShipStation), the software has to pull ALL orders from ALL connections first, and then filter based on a user created rule.
Why do we do this?
Sending Shipstation 1 request allows us to pull more orders faster, instead of 7-10 different requests for your separate channels. Connex then filters the orders, and if you created a rule saying "do not sync this connection", it will not send them to your QuickBooks. (Note: they will not count towards your transaction limit).
If you tell Connex not to import from a certain connection, those orders will not be synced. (Your log will say that order X was filtered by a do not import rule.)
If you have more than 5 selling channels, leave the "Order Status" field blank, and create rules that will not export your unwanted connections.
How do I add the rule?
In this example, we will use ShipStation. The user has several stores, and they want to exclude Amazon and Ebay orders from being synced on this connection. We will exclude all Amazon and eBay orders with this rule.
- Login to Connex.
- On the left, click rules engine.
- Click my rules.
- Click add.
- Choose "Map Conditions for Fields".
- As the action, choose Do Not Import Order to QuickBooks.
On the rules grid, add these rules:
(once this rule is mapped, click Add above the rule, and follow the same template but with your other selling channels, and repeat until you have all of them listed like below)
- Click next.
- Click finish.
