Rules Engine Guide
How do I remove part of a SKU?
If you sell on Amazon, you may have multiple listings for the same product. For each product, you could have a suffix. All listings point to the same SKU, but SKUs must be unique. In this example, we will add a rule that removes a suffix.
How do I add the rule?
Here are the steps:
- Login to Connex.
- On the left side of the screen, select Rules.
- Click Add New Rule.
- Select Map field, based on a condition.
- As the action, choose Replace Part of SKU.
- In the comparison step, set the values as in the screenshot below:
- You can add another comparison for each suffix. If you had a -2, then add the same rule with a -2.
- Leave the field What should the value be? blank. This will tell the rules engine to replace the suffix with a blank character, which removes the suffix.
- Select Submit in the bottom right corner.
This will create your rule and should remove suffixes from the end of any SKUs. If you need to remove it from the beginning, try something like the conditions below.
This example is typically used with ShipStation or something similar.
